A successful experiment

Mom was pretty excited to see how tall her corn was a few weeks back.

That picture was taken on July 18th, about three weeks ago now. This potato/corn patch is entirely experimental, as we had no way of watering it or babysitting it. Well, it seems to be doing pretty well on its own!

We're pretty darn excited about this!! The bees seem to be loving the pollen, they're growing ears of corn, and they did it all on thier own. This is a heritage variety of corn, so I'm really excited to see what colours they're going to be.

Oh, we also picked some potatoes..

It was exactly like an easter hunt, turning the soil and watching these beautiful little red gems popping out of the sand.

This was only Saturday!
